Server Rules
Gamespace is a friendly community. These rules are not designed to cramp your style, but rather to ensure that Gamespace remains a fun friendly community for everyone.
You are to abide by these rules at all times and respect any reasonable request from an admin. If you are found in breach you may be forcibly removed from the server, and possibly face a network-wide ban.
Below are the general rules outlining what is not permitted on the Gamespace Servers. We reserve the right to change these rules without prior notice:
1. Any form of harasement, such as abuse, racism, sexism, threats and accusations of hacking. This includes excessive swearing.* Harasement of game operators will result in severe punishments.
2. Displaying inappropriate material, such as full nudity or other adult content or pornography, extreme violence and the discussion of drug use or availability.
3. The use or discussion of availability or advertising of cheats/hacks, this includes, but is not limited to:
a) wallhacks
b) aimbots
c) speedhacks
d) lamberts
e) multihacks
f) screen cheating (ghosting)
or otherwise giving yourself an unfair advantage over the general community.
4. Map exploitation, such as sky-walking on de_dust, roofing on cs_italy, access to no-clip areas, silent planting and undefusable plants.
5. Bunny Hopping is not permitted as it is considered as a game exploit and form of gaining unfair speed advantage.
If you continuously jump on flat ground without stopping, resulting in a speed advantage, then you will be punished for gaining an illegal form of speed advantage.
Note that doing a long jump or a sideways jump in and out of cover, for example is ok and legitimate as long as you don’t jump continuously, resulting in a speed advantage.
The only exception to this rule would be if you jump down a slope (like the middle ramp near CT spawn in de_cbble or in the underpass in de_dust) and then stop jumping once you get to flat ground. In this case you are considered as momentum jumping not bunny hopping, and therefore are not breaking this rule. However, if you continue to jump once you get to flat ground and gain a speed advantage, then you will be seen as bunny hopping and therefore will be punished for breaking this rule.
Breaking this rule will result in a forfeit for the team if disputed by the opposing side. Depending on the situation you will likely receive either a temporary or a permanent ban for breaking a server rule. This is a Gamespace rule and you must abide by it.
6. Disruptive behaviour such as camping when on the offensive side, continual microphone spamming, use of Half-Life Sound Selector (HLSS) to annoy players, or imitating other player's names or clan tags.
7. Grenade spamming and deliberate team flashing. Each player has a max of one (1) HE grenade, two (2) flashbangs and one (1) smoke grenade per round.**
8. Misleading and deceiving other players. This includes, but is not limited to:
a) pretending to be a Game Operator or any other level of admin
b) misleading players into thinking or doing something that will lead to an undesirable result.
9. Denial Of Service attacking or packet flooding other players/servers.
Surf maps server specific rules
1. Actions that unnecesarily interupt the flow of the maps (usually camping) will be punished. This includes (but is not limited to), camping at spawn, camping at the "top" of maps, camping on ramps, and camping in places from which you cannot return.
2. In cases where players are interrupting the flow of the maps, the admins will slap the player either back onto a ramp, or off onto the ground. Repeated offenders will be slain / kicked.
Slide maps server specific rules
1. You are only allowed to use a KNIFE / DEAGLE / AWP to kill and damage other players. Other weapons (including grenades) will result in automatic punishment. Weapons other than KNIFE / DEAGLE / AWP are only for use for shooting buttons on appropriate Slide maps.
2. Move out of spawn as quickly as possible. Do not camp at spawn, join your fellow players on the Slide track! If you are planning to go AFK, please join the Spectators.
3. Do not "mine shoot" (purposefully shoot the mines on the ground.) Whether you kill or injure another player in the process or not, you will be slayed if caught.
4. Do not map exploit, just like any other game. Map exploiting in Slide includes, but is not limited to: sliding in areas that are not meant to be reachable, camping in areas that are not meant to be reachable, "launching" other players, purposely avoiding the Slide track, avoiding moving in intended slide direction, and entering the opposition's spawn area (except for when the map clearly has a route back to spawn, for example, a teleport). Map Exploiters, in most cases, will be warned before being slapped or slayed. If you find yourself in an situation where you believe you are Map Exploiting, attempt to rejoin the track, or type "kill" (without quotes) in your console. If a Map Exploiter repeats their actions after being warned, they will be kicked.
GameSpace admins reserve the rights to:
a:\ interpret the rules according to the breach
b:\ punish in a way that's befitting the breach
If you have any questions or complaints about the way an admin has handled a specific matter, please feel free to email networkops@gamespace.net.au and submit any evidence you have, whether it's screenshots or serverlogs.
* Some light swearing MIGHT be allowed, as most games are rated M15+. Excessive swearing will be considered abuse.
** This rule does not apply to WC3 FT CS, where certain items give players multiple grenades.
