What's Yer OS?
Seems like we're running through the standard forum starters here, so I'll chuck this one into the works.
Mac users make yourself known so we can make fun of and be jealous of you.
Also, what chall think of SP2? I rather like it. a bit wanky in parts though.
Sorry if I missed your OS in the list

Right now I have WinXP (SP1) running, but I have Mandrake10 (Offical ) and Win2k3 installed. Still can't work the bloody thing out, but it's cool to say.
EDIT: I'm not going for SP2. I'm just installing all the patches that this website tells me to. It's incredibly useful for WinXP users, I recommend you check it out.

wheres the poll? lol
Ok i have tried:
Knoppix
Redhat
mandrake
Win95
Win98
WinME
Win2k
WinXP (H&P)
Max OSX
I currently have WinXP (SP2) and Mac OSX running on my computer I love Windows, but i also love Mac's. I would have to chose PC simply cause it supports everything.

uhh it's at the top, 3 people have voted.
I totally love macs too, but they are just way too expensive and games wise they don't have much goin for em. but in a perfect world I'd have a Dual G5 with a 30 inch apple cinema display sitting beside this PC

Mind you, if it weren't for Starcraft and HL2 (when it comes out ) I'd ditch Winxp in a flash.

I've got no major beef with XP,
not right now anyway, probably because I'm not at work.
then I hate it

ahha mindsnare i foudn the poll after i replied.. didnt show up first time for some reason.
SP2 for me was good.. firewall is much better and the security centre forced me to install a virus scanner.. so thas a plus.
The wireless networking setup looks eaier as well.. so if your a laptop/wireless user maybe install it to see if it gets rid of some of yoru problems
- Some Free Downloads for Netspace Users (and PIPE users)
ftp://ftp.adelaide.pipenetworks.com/...ndowsXPsp2.exe - SA
ftp://ftp.melbourne.pipenetworks.com...ndowsXPsp2.exe - VIC
The rest of you will have to find your own sources for downloading them.

You people must be using different types of macs, cause the macs i use at uni drive me insane with their crappy desktop settings and their overal functionality.
XP SP2 here
SP2 didnt really effect me that much i already had firewall and antivirus software installed and any updates to wireless networking are redundant as i dont have a wireless ethernet adaptor :P. The popup blocker on i.e was cool but i use firefox and thunderbird anyway

It's because when mindsnare hit submit, it posted the thread, but he hadn't done the poll yet. You clicked on the thread before he submitted the poll.

hha im jsut too quick
and the popup and activex thing is pretty lousy.. most sites which use activex now have them "you cannot access this site until you enable this activx cotnrol" things. which defeats the purpose.

Yeah SP2 is very good for the Computer Mongaloids. I'm getting sick of friends and relitives wondering why their computers run like sheit when they have it crammed full of trojans and adware, hopefully this will ease it down for a while, was getting out of hand.
Also Agreed awesome for wireless, and the perty new system tray icon is nice too

What sorta sites *need* ActiveX? I can understand Windows Update, but I use Firefox for everything else..
Gives me an idea for a thread.

xp pro + sp2. Noticed no diff in my wireless setup. Only issue I have is the wireless network rebooting every 1-2 days (hopefully new firmware will address this) the ADSL and LAN are rock stable.

What sort of adapter do you have?
Mine used to do that, albeit every 63 seconds.

Windows XP with SP1 all the way, but only because linux doesnt run all my games and Windows XP seems to be so easy to use with adding new hardware and crap constantly.

That's what I'd like to know! I guess 'no' service pack is a type of service pack.
