When fans die... more than once
I have a little box which I'm turning into a webserver anyway it has an AMD CPU which happens to run rather hot. It has been running like 24/7 for ages since its last dust/thing. The last time I stopped it and left it off for just a little while, I switched it back on and the cpu fan started spinning then the whole case started to vibrate and the fan it slowed down and stopped. After a moment of panic I turned the computer off and filled the fan with oil and that shut it up till now... I've just turned it off again and the fan didn't get far before it again stopped dead. Its going again with yet another ton of oil in it. ANYWAY the rather long (sorry) question is how many times can I actually do this before it just stops working?
Ok I was thinking about shorting this novel length question but I am slack and couldn't be bothered deleting it ALL...
