Hello and Why

heya all

First post so i guess i should say g'day, and gl with the site , servers, etc..

I am very impressed with the available servers u guys have running, only problem is I was sitting in the ctf server for a whole game by myself, and another ctf server was full, i wont mention names, but we know which onel... it was a shame no one rocked up.

The question that is on my mind , why is it that no one barely comes to that server.... fair enough its not available if u dont un-tick the standard servers box when browsing servers..I am sure the community knows how to get around this by now..

Anyways I hope more peeps will find use for these servers, and I would be happy to recommend server bookings to my fellow clan members if the oportunity arised..

I'm also incredibly surprised on why nobody is on their full ONS, or CTF servers
it's just not fair =(

Just took UTComp off the CTF server so it (as Derro pointed out) shows as a standard server. Hopefully it attracts some more people

Need a crowd? All you need is one dedicated player to join one of the servers early in the morning. Eventually other's start joining that one server seeing as it's one of the only servers there filled with people. Then, once the server is nice and full, for the rest of the day you'll find it stays full. Do this for a couple of days and you'll have crowd's of people who take a set of servers as their home as I take GameSpace servers as my home now.

That's my past experience

So it's not possible to set a time limit?

I thought they all had time limits? meh

Anyway back on topic, spread the word, people will join. It takes some effort and some patience but it is possible to build a community. You need game ops who play the game as well, this is very important, people like to see game ops in game.

A community likes to see it ideas implemented, and as far I can tell gamespace is on top of the game in this regard.

Just look at our assault night... i think overall we had about 20 people joining/leaving within that short period of time.
If you go, they will follow

Maybeee... :P

Specs do use up bandwidth as well. So they pretty much count as players. The less players, the smoother the server

In Assault, the amount of players in game has a more significant impact than DM for example.

How does 12 players, 4 specs sound?

Specs actually use alot less bandwidth than players but I'm not arguing with you, it's your call.

The good thing is the interest is building.
