#dx.pug a new UT2004 pug channel

Firstly whats a PUG a lot of UTers ask?
It stands for "Pick Up Game" basically where you get a group of random people to make a couple of teams, hop on a server and play like a clan game but with whoever signs up and is around at the time.
Basically its a way of getting the community playing together in a nice friendly enviroment, without the annoyances of general public servers e.g. people afk, completely stacked teams etc.
We ask people who use this bot not to stack teams and use your real name on irc so the teams can be well balanced. This will hopefully lead to fun games.
Secondly how do you get to this channel?
If you have used irc before #dx.pug on irc.enterthegame.com
If you haven't used irc before goto www.mirc.com and d/l the latest client and install. Then open it and enter your details in the box that pops up, in the server drop down menu look for EnterTheGame and connect to that, then type /join #dx.pug. If you have any problems pm me or post here and we'll get it working. Once you've joined the channel just type !help for the commands from there or simply ask one of the ops.
So basically its up to the community to use this. The only real problem is servers to be used we will be looking into this. Hopefully JSG FFA & Clanwar and the Oceania ut server can be used. We'll be looking into this.
Thirdly what maps are going to be played during the PUG? Well whatever the majority votes for obviously, be adults and use utcomp to your advantage. Its up to the two teams how many maps are to be played, but 3 at most should be a general rule, as there may be other pug teams wanting to use the servers or people in general!
Also it can be used for CTF or TDM if 4 people sign up on each team and they want to play TDM go ahead but if 5 people sign up on each team its obviously for CTF.
Anyway hopefully over the next few weeks people pick this up, as it is a lot of fun, if the CS community can do it I'm sure we can.
